HGV Class 1 Driver

Class 1 Driver - Coventry, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Coventry, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts: Monday to Friday: 6.00am or 5.00pm starts

Pay rate: £17.00 - £20.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not limited to:

• Operate and drive various class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
• Maintain accurate records of shipment, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed.

Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

• Hold a valid UK C+E Licence (CLASS 1)
• Have a minimum of 24 months experience driving a C+E vehicles.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no major endorsement codes.
• Have an in-date UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card.
• Must be able to speak and read a certain level of English.
• Experience operating various trailer types.
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Flexibility and availability to work overtime as and when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

Desirable Experience

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial.
