This is a vital position within our production team, ensuring film is produced to exact specifications in a safe and efficient way.

Location: Brigg, North Lincolnshire

Hours

  • 4 on / 4 off rotating days & nights
  • 2 x 6AM–6PM, followed by 2 x 6PM–6AM
  • Average 42 hours/week
  • £13.91 per hour
  • Overtime: 1.5x rate | Sundays & Bank Holidays: 2.0x rate
  • Monthly pay around the 19th

Roles and Responsibilities of an Extrusion Operative

  • Operate and monitor extrusion machines for blown film production
  • Perform job set-ups and warm-ups following safe work procedures
  • Conduct regular process inspections and report quality results
  • Deliver, return, and accurately record film using internal systems
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and perform general housekeeping
  • Assist with material selection and machine troubleshooting
  • Communicate with the Extrusion Team Leader and Maintenance as needed
  • Complete accurate shift reports and weigh/palletize finished product
  • Carry out duties in other departments or cover Team Leader when required

Requirements of an Extrusion Operative

  • Prior experience operating extrusion or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of machine processes and quality control procedures
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in an industrial setting
  • Comfortable using production reporting systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot machines
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • Ability to follow job specifications, technical instructions, and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication skills – able to report issues clearly and effectively to Team Leaders and Maintenance
  • Organised and capable of maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
  • Physically fit to manage manual handling tasks such as loading/unloading, moving film, and housekeeping duties
